Colors of the Year: PANTONE Picks Top 2016 Hues
Color trends come and go, but for the next 12 months at least, expect to see intermingling shades of pink and blue appearing as the latest trends for everything from fashion to interior design. PANTONE®, the leading authority on all things color, announced that PANTONE 13-1520 & PANTONE 15-3919, known as Rose Quartz and Serenity, are the Color of the Year 2016.
In an unprecedented move, Pantone is introducing two shades as the Color of the Year 2016, setting the tone for the upcoming months.
“Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone’s executive director.
Will you be trying this latest trend, incorporating the soft shades into your house design ideas? It might be just the update your house needs to transform into a dream home. Pantone recommends that the blend of colors is a tone that is appealing in nearly any iteration.
“Whether in soft or hard surface material, the pairing of Rose Quartz and Serenity brings calm and relaxation. Appealing in all finishes, matte, metallic and glossy, the engaging combo joins easily with other mid-tones including greens and purples, rich browns, and all shades of yellow and pink. Add in silver or hot brights for more splash and sparkle.”
