HNI CORPORATION ACHIEVES BETTER CLIMATE CHALLENGE EMISSIONS GOAL

HNI Corporation is pleased to be recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for achieving its scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction goal as a partner in the Better Climate Challenge at an event held last week at the White House in Washington, D.C. HNI has reduced scope 1 and 2 emissions by 64% through the purchase of renewable electricity and energy efficiency efforts across our portfolio.

The Better Climate Challenge is one component of the Better Buildings Initiative, through which the DOE partners with more than 900 public and private sector organizations to make commercial, public, industrial, and residential buildings more efficient, thereby saving energy and money while creating jobs.

“We are proud of this achievement and grateful for the partnership with the DOE. We rely on the collaboration, resources, and tools that the DOE provides to help us on this journey. We take a moment to acknowledge this achievement but know we need to keep pushing forward and further to increase our efficiency and to make a significant contribution in the fight against climate change” said Lisa Brunie McDermott, HNI’s Director of Corporate Social Responsibility.
